Treasury Formation and Fine-Grained Ethics

तस्मात् संजनयेत् कोशं सत्कृत्य परिपालयेत् । परिपाल्यानुतनुयादेष धर्म: सनातन:,इसलिये राजा कोशका संग्रह करे, संग्रह करके सादर उसकी रक्षा करे और रक्षा करके निरन्तर उसको बढ़ाता रहे; यही राजाका सदासे चला आनेवाला धर्म है
Transliteration
tasmāt sañjanayet kośaṃ satkṛtya paripālayet | paripālyānutanuyād eṣa dharmaḥ sanātanaḥ ||
Translation
Therefore a king should build up the treasury, and having amassed it, he should guard it with due respect and careful administration. Having protected it, he should steadily augment it again and again. This is the ancient, time-honoured duty of kingship.
