Bala and Dharma in Kṣatriya Governance (बल-धर्म सम्बन्धः)

यास्तु कोशबलत्यागाच्छक्यास्तरितुमापद: । कस्तत्राधिकमात्मान संत्यजेदर्थधर्मवित्‌,खजाना और सेनाका त्याग कर देनेसे ही जहाँ विपत्तियोंको पार किया जा सके, ऐसी परिस्थितिमें कौन अर्थ और धर्मका ज्ञाता पुरुष अपनी सबसे अधिक मूल्यवान्‌ वस्तु शरीरका त्याग करेगा?

Translation

Where calamities can be crossed merely by abandoning the treasury and the army, what man—knower of profit (artha) and righteousness (dharma)—would give up what is most precious, his own body?
