त्रिवर्गमूलनिश्चयः — Determining the Roots of Dharma, Artha, and Kāma

इति ते सर्वमाख्यातं यो दण्डो मनुजर्षभ । नियन्ता सर्वलोकस्य धर्माक्रान्तस्थ भारत,नरश्रेष्ठ] भरतनन्दन! जो दण्ड सम्पूर्ण धार्मिक जगत्‌के नियमके भीतर रखनेवाला है, उसके सम्बन्धमें जितनी बातें हैं, उन्हें मैंने तुम्हें बता दीं

Translation

Thus have I told you everything, O best of men, concerning daṇḍa—the power that restrains and governs the whole world, keeping it within the bounds of dharma. O Bhārata, O foremost of men, O joy of the Bharata line: all that pertains to daṇḍa I have declared to you.
