भীমेन युधिष्ठिरस्य त्यागवृत्तेः प्रतिषेधः

Bhīma’s Rebuttal of Yudhiṣṭhira’s Renunciatory Inclination

अथ चेदात्मभाग्येषु नान्येषां सिद्धिमश्रुते । तस्मात्‌ कर्मव कर्तव्यं नास्ति सिद्धिरकर्मण:,यदि अपने भाग्यमें दूसरोंके कर्मोसे प्राप्त हुई सिद्धि नहीं आती, तब तो सभीको कर्म ही करना चाहिये। अकर्मण्य पुरुषको कभी कोई सिद्धि नहीं मिलती

atha ced ātmabhāgyeṣu nānyeṣāṁ siddhim aśrute | tasmāt karmaiva kartavyaṁ nāsti siddhir akarmaṇaḥ ||

Bhīma said: “If, within one’s own allotted destiny, success is not heard of as coming from the deeds of others, then one must indeed act for oneself. For a man who does not act, there is never any attainment.”
