सा मे व्यवस्थिता श्रुत्वा तव वाक्यं जनार्दन । भगवान्‌ श्रीकृष्णकी यह बात सुनकर गान्धारीने कहा--“महाबाहु केशव! तुम जैसा कहते हो, वह बिलकुल ठीक है। अबतक मेरे मनमें बड़ी व्यथाएँ थीं और उन व्यथाओंकी आगसे दग्ध होनेके कारण मेरी बुद्धि विचलित हो गयी थी (अतः मैं पाण्डवोंके अनिष्टकी बात सोचने लगी थी); परंतु जनार्दन! इस समय तुम्हारी बात सुनकर मेरी बुद्धि स्थिर हो गयी है--क्रोधका आवेश उतर गया है

sā me vyavasthitā śrutvā tava vākyaṃ janārdana | mahābāho keśava yathā vadasi tathā sarvam eva samyag iti | adyāvadhi mama manasi bahvyo vyathā āsan, tābhir vyathāgnibhir dagdhāyā me buddhir vyākulībhūtā; ataḥ pāṇḍavānām aniṣṭam acintayam | idānīṃ tu janārdana tava vacaḥ śrutvā me buddhir niścalā jātā, krodhāvego vyapagataḥ ||

Hearing your words, Janārdana, I have become composed. Mighty-armed Keśava, what you say is entirely right. Until now many griefs tormented my mind, and scorched by the fire of that anguish my judgment was shaken—so I began to think of harm to the Pāṇḍavas. But now, Janārdana, on hearing you, my understanding has steadied and the surge of anger has subsided.
