Educational Q&A

Even in the aftermath of intense conflict, the leaders act with steadiness and responsibility—releasing the reins and dismounting in an orderly way—suggesting self-control, mindful closure of action, and care for what is entrusted to them.

Sañjaya reports that Kṛṣṇa lets go of the horses’ reins and gets down from the chariot; Arjuna, the Gāṇḍīva-bearer Dhanañjaya, also dismounts, marking a transition in the battle episode.
