atyadbhutāni te dṛṣṭvā vāsudeva-purogamāḥ | duryodhanasya pūjāṃ tu dṛṣṭvā brīḍām upāgaman ||
Sañjaya said: Having witnessed those exceedingly wondrous events, all who were led by Vāsudeva (Kṛṣṇa) were overcome with shame when they saw the honor and worship being offered to Duryodhana—an outward reverence that stood in stark contrast to his inner unrighteousness amid the war’s moral crisis.

The verse highlights the ethical tension between external honor and inner worth: public worship or royal protocol can be misdirected toward an unrighteous person, and the virtuous feel shame when social reverence contradicts dharma.
Sañjaya reports that Kṛṣṇa and those accompanying him witness astonishing events, and then—seeing Duryodhana being ceremonially honored—they feel embarrassed and morally pained at the incongruity of such veneration being shown to him.
