Transliteration

pāṇḍubhyaḥ prārthyamāno 'pi pitryam aṁśaṁ na dattavān |

Translation

Sañjaya said: Even though he was repeatedly entreated on the Pāṇḍavas’ behalf, he still did not grant them their rightful ancestral share. The line underscores the ethical failure of withholding a legitimate inheritance despite counsel and appeals—an injustice that helped drive the conflict toward war.
