Educational Q&A

The verse teaches that sustained life or conduct rooted in auspicious intention and goodwill is depicted as protecting one from Yama’s realm—symbolically, from the consequences of wrongdoing and the fear of post-mortem judgment.

Rāma is making a declarative assurance about the fate of certain people: those who remain (or dwell) with a wholesome purpose will not encounter Yama’s jurisdiction, framing a moral guarantee within the story’s discourse.
