उत्पपाताश्रमात् तस्मादन्तरिक्षं विशाम्पते । जिज्ञासार्थ तदा भिक्षोर्जैगीषव्यस्य देवल:
Translation
O lord of the people, he sprang up from that hermitage into the mid-air. At that time Devala did so in order to inquire into and test the mendicant Jaigīṣavya.
