Educational Q&A

The verse teaches that worship performed at a sacred tīrtha is credited with powerful spiritual efficacy: it removes the sense of ‘unattainable’ goals in both worldly and otherworldly spheres and is said to lead to a higher realm (Sārasvata-loka).

Vaiśaṃpāyana, as narrator, reports a promise of assured benefit: those who perform worship connected with the Sārasvata sacred context will face no scarcity of attainable aims and will reach the Sārasvata realm without doubt.
