Vaiśampāyana said: When she was invoked, she went there—to the sacred Himalayan mountain. Once, Brahmā performed a holy sacrifice upon Himavat; and at his summons the goddess Sarasvatī arrived there, becoming renowned by the name Vimalodakā.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Sacred acts performed with proper invocation and reverence are portrayed as drawing divine presence; the epithet Vimalodakā underscores the ethical-religious ideal of inner and outer purification through contact with the sacred.
The narrator states that, upon being summoned, the goddess (understood as Sarasvatī) goes to the holy Himalayan mountain; the surrounding context explains that during Brahmā’s sacrifice there, she appeared and became celebrated as Vimalodakā.
