अभवद्‌ गौतमो नित्यं पिता धर्मरत: सदा । उनकी तपस्या, नियम और इन्द्रियनिग्रहसे उनके धर्म-परायण पिता गौतम सदा ही प्रसन्न रहा करते थे

Transliteration

abhavad gautamo nityaṃ pitā dharmarataḥ sadā |

Translation

Vaiśaṃpāyana said: Gautama, ever steadfast, was always a father devoted to dharma. Through austerity, disciplined observances, and mastery of the senses, he remained continually content.
