विश्रान्ताश्व वितृष्णाश्ष पुनर्युद्धाय जम्मिरे । अर्जुनके बाणोंसे आहत हो कितने ही मनुष्य रणभूमिमें ही पड़े-पड़े उच्छवास लेते दिखायी देते थे। उन्हें दूसरे लोग अपने रथपर बिठाकर घड़ी-दो-बड़ी आश्वासन दे स्वयं भी विश्राम करके प्यास बुझाकर पुनः युद्धके लिये जाते थे

With the horses rested and their thirst quenched, they readied themselves once more for battle. Many men, struck by Arjuna’s arrows, lay on the very field of war, seeming still to draw faint, gasping breaths. Others lifted them onto their chariots, offered a moment or two of reassurance; then, taking rest themselves and slaking their thirst, they returned again to the fight.
