शल्यपर्व — चतुर्विंशोऽध्यायः | Śalya Parva, Chapter 24: Disruption of Kaurava Formations and the Elephant Encirclement
तत् सर्वमद्य जानामि व्यवसायं दुरात्मन: । यदुक्त वचन तेन विदुरेण महात्मना
tat sarvam adya jānāmi vyavasāyaṁ durātmanaḥ | yad uktaṁ vacanaṁ tena vidureṇa mahātmanā ||
Sañjaya said: “Now I understand fully the resolve and intent of that wicked-minded man. It has turned out exactly as the great-souled Vidura had spoken.”
संजय उवाच
Ethically, the verse highlights the value of righteous counsel and clear discernment: the intentions of an adharma-driven person become evident through outcomes, and the wise (like Vidura) can foresee the consequences of immoral resolve.
Sanjaya reflects on events and tells Dhritarashtra that he now recognizes the determined intent of the evil-minded party, and that what Vidura had earlier warned or predicted has proven true.
