Transliteration

yodhāḥ paryapatan rājan śataśo 'tha sahasraśaḥ |

Translation

Sañjaya said: O King, in that clash of heroes, warriors surged in from every side—by the hundreds and by the thousands—closing in upon one another and fixing their gaze on their opponents as the battle tightened into direct confrontation.
