Unrestrained Battle Description and Śakuni’s Rear Assault
सच तान् प्रति संरब्ध: प्रत्ययोधयदाहवे । जैसे इन्द्रियाँ मूढ़ मनुष्यको पीड़ा देती हैं
sa ca tān prati saṃrabdhaḥ pratyayodhayad āhave | yathendriyāṇi mūḍhaṃ manuṣyaṃ pīḍayanti tathā te pañca bhrātaraḥ kṛpācāryaṃ pīḍayām āsuḥ | kṛpācāryo 'pi atyanta-roṣeṇa pūritaḥ raṇakṣetre teṣāṃ sarvaiḥ saha yuddham akarot |
Sañjaya said: Enraged, he advanced against them and fought them back in the battle. Just as the senses torment a deluded man, so those five brothers began to harass Kṛpācārya. Kṛpācārya too, filled with intense wrath, fought with all of them together on the field.

The verse uses an ethical simile: uncontrolled senses torment a deluded person, just as multiple opponents can overwhelm a warrior. It highlights how delusion and anger intensify suffering, implying the value of self-mastery even amid kṣatriya warfare.
Sañjaya describes Kṛpācārya being pressed hard by the five Pāṇḍava brothers in battle; enraged, Kṛpa counter-attacks and fights them all together on the battlefield.
