Unrestrained Battle Description and Śakuni’s Rear Assault
अति सर्वाणि भूतानि ददृशु: सर्वमानवा: । उस महामनस्वी वीरकी फुर्ती, अस्त्र-संचालनका सुन्दर ढंग तथा पराक्रम--इन सबको सब लोगोंने सम्पूर्ण प्राणियोंसे बढ़-चढ़कर देखा
ati sarvāṇi bhūtāni dadṛśuḥ sarvamānavāḥ |
Sañjaya said: All the men beheld him as surpassing all living beings—his high-spirited swiftness, the graceful mastery with which he wielded his weapons, and his valor. The scene underscores how martial excellence, when displayed in the public eye, becomes a measure by which a warrior is judged amid the moral pressures of war.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how extraordinary prowess—speed, disciplined weapon-handling, and courage—wins universal recognition in wartime, reflecting the kṣatriya ideal of excellence under pressure while also reminding that public acclaim becomes a powerful moral and social force in battle.
Sañjaya reports that everyone present is watching a great warrior and is struck by his exceptional agility, elegant use of weapons, and valor, judging him as surpassing all other beings in that moment.
