hatapravīrā vidhvastā nikṛttāś ca śitaiḥ śaraiḥ |
Sañjaya said: With their foremost heroes slain, the Kaurava troops were shattered and cut down by sharp arrows. After Śalya’s fall, those warriors—wounded, broken, and leaderless—lost hope of victory.
संजय उवाच
