हत्वा मद्राधिपं पार्थों भोक्ष्यतेड्द्य वसुन्धराम्,भरतनन्दन! “आज कुन्तीकुमार युधिष्छिर मद्रराजको मारकर इस भूतलका राज्य भोगेंगे अथवा शल्य ही पाण्डुकुमार युधिष्ठिरको मारकर दुर्योधनको भूमण्डलका राज्य सौंप देंगे।। इस बातका निश्चय वहाँ योद्धाओंको नहीं हो पाता था
Translation
“Having slain the lord of Madra, Pārtha will today enjoy the earth, O delight of the Bharatas!”—yet among the warriors there no certainty could be reached: whether this day Kuntī’s son Yudhiṣṭhira would kill the king of Madra and rule the world, or whether Śalya would slay Pāṇḍu’s son Yudhiṣṭhira and hand the sovereignty of the earth to Duryodhana.
