Sañjaya said: “O King, with swift force he pierced them; it seemed almost wondrous. In the very midst of battle he struck those great bowmen, five arrows to each, with surging speed—an act that appeared extraordinary.”

The verse highlights the astonishing efficacy of disciplined martial skill in war, while also implicitly reminding the listener (the king) that battlefield brilliance can appear ‘wondrous’ yet remains bound to the tragic momentum of conflict.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that a warrior, acting with great speed, wounded the opposing great archers—five arrows to each—so effectively that the feat seemed extraordinary.
