Śalya–Bhīma Gadā-saṃnipāta and Śalya’s Bāṇa-jāla against Yudhiṣṭhira
Book 9, Chapter 11
तमापततन्तं पत्त्यश्वै: क्रुद्धो राजा युधिछिर:
tam āpatatantaṁ pattyaśvaiḥ kruddho rājā yudhiṣṭhiraḥ
Sañjaya said: Seeing him rushing forward, King Yudhiṣṭhira—angered—advanced to meet him with his infantry and cavalry.
संजय उवाच
Even a ruler devoted to dharma may be compelled, in a just war, to display controlled wrath and decisive action; the ethical challenge is to let anger serve duty rather than personal hatred.
Sañjaya reports that as an opponent charges in, Yudhiṣṭhira responds in anger by moving against him supported by infantry and cavalry, signaling an escalation in the immediate combat.
