पाण्डवाश्षापि ते सर्वे कि वक्ष्यन्ति नराधिप
Pāṇḍavāś cāpi te sarve kiṁ vakṣyanti narādhipa?
Sanjaya said: “And what will all those Pandavas say to you, O king?”
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights moral accountability after violence: a ruler must face not only outcomes but also the judgment and response of those harmed—here, the surviving Pāṇḍavas—underscoring the ethical weight of decisions made in war.
Sañjaya addresses Dhṛtarāṣṭra, anticipating the Pāṇḍavas’ response in the wake of the night massacre described in the Sauptika Parva, and presses the king to consider how the victors and survivors will speak and react.
