Thus, in the Śrī Mahābhārata, within the Sauptika Parva—specifically in the Aiṣīka section—the fifteenth chapter, dealing with the Brahmāstra’s entry into the womb of the Pāṇḍavas’ lineage, is concluded. From this point onward, a mighty-armed king of the Kurus will be born.
वैशग्पायन उवाच
Even after catastrophic violence, dharma seeks the protection of life and the re-establishment of rightful order; the narrative turns from the misuse of ultimate weapons toward safeguarding the future of the dynasty and society.
This is a chapter-colophon style conclusion: it closes the chapter describing the Brahmāstra’s threat to the unborn heir in the Pāṇḍava line and then foreshadows that a mighty Kuru king will be born from this point onward.
