अश्वत्थाम-शापः, परिक्षिद्भविष्यत्, मणि-न्यासः
Aśvatthāman’s Curse, Parikṣit’s Future, and the Mani’s Restitution
कृपाच्छारद्वताच्छूर: सर्वास्त्राण्युपपत्स्यते । परीक्षित् तो दीर्घ आयु प्राप्त करके ब्रह्मचर्यपालन एवं वेदाध्ययनका व्रत धारण करेगा और वह शूरवीर बालक शरद्वानके पुत्र कृपाचार्यसे ही सम्पूर्ण अस्त्र-शस्त्रोंका ज्ञान प्राप्त करेगा || १३ $ ।।
vaishampāyana uvāca |
kr̥pāc chāradvatāc chūraḥ sarvāstrāṇy upapatsyate |
viditvā paramāstrāṇi kṣatradharmavrate sthitaḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana said: “That heroic boy will learn the complete science of weapons and missiles from Kṛpa, the valiant son of Śaradvat. Having mastered the supreme weapons, he will remain steadfast in the vow of kṣatriya-dharma—training not for vanity, but for the protection of order and rightful rule.”
