श्रुतं तत्‌ सर्वलोकेषु परमव्यसने यथा । दीपो<भूस्त्वं हि पार्थानां नगरे वारणावते

śrutaṃ tat sarvalokeṣu paramavyasane yathā | dīpo 'bhūs tvaṃ hi pārthānāṃ nagare vāraṇāvate ||

Vaiśampāyana said: “That deed became known throughout all the worlds—how, in their hour of utmost calamity, you became a lamp for the Pārthas in the city of Vāraṇāvata.”
