Varuṇa’s Divine Assembly

Nārada’s Description

sragviṇo divyagandhāś ca divyagandhānulepanāḥ | ādityās tatra varuṇaṃ jaleśvaram upāsate ||

Nārada said: In that celestial assembly, the Ādityas—adorned with divine garlands, fragrant with heavenly perfumes, and anointed with divine sandal-paste—worship Varuṇa, the lord of the waters. The scene underscores the ordered hierarchy of the cosmos, where even great deities honor the rightful sovereign of a domain through reverent service.
