सो<यं नूनमनुप्राप्तस्त्वत्कृते काल उत्तम: । त्वरितं कुरुत श्रेयो नैतदेतावता कृतम्,“तुम्हारे लिये यह निश्चय ही बहुत उत्तम अवसर प्राप्त हुआ है। शीघ्र ही अपने कल्याण-साधनमें लग जाओ। पाण्डवोंको वनवास दे देनेमात्रसे तुम्हारा अभीष्ट सिद्ध नहीं हो सकता
so ’yaṃ nūnam anuprāptas tvatkṛte kāla uttamaḥ | tvaritaṃ kuruta śreyo naitad etāvatā kṛtam ||
Vaiśampāyana said: “For your sake, this truly is an excellent moment that has arrived. Act quickly for what is truly beneficial. Your aim cannot be fulfilled merely by sending the Pāṇḍavas into exile.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
One should recognize the decisive moment (kāla) and pursue true welfare (śreyaḥ) promptly; partial measures that only appear to succeed do not accomplish a deeper objective.
In the Sabha Parva context after the Pāṇḍavas’ defeat and exile, the narrator reports counsel that the present situation is a favorable opportunity for the addressee, but that merely sending the Pāṇḍavas to the forest will not fully secure the intended goal.
