Educational Q&A

The verse emphasizes steadfastness to a righteous resolve and practical responsibility: once a commitment is made for protection and justice, one should carry it through fully, while also urging prudent self-protection through appropriate action.

Sahadeva responds in support of Bhima’s stated intention regarding an opponent and his kin, affirming that he will help accomplish that intended deed and advising the addressed person to take whatever measures are necessary for self-defense.
