युधन्वोवाच पुत्रसस्‍्नेहं परित्यज्य यस्त्वं धर्मे व्यवस्थित: । अनुजानामि ते पुत्र जीवत्वेष शतं समा:

Yudhanvovāca putrasnehaṃ parityajya yastvaṃ dharme vyavasthitaḥ | anujānāmi te putra jīvatveṣa śataṃ samāḥ ||

Yudhanva said: “Since you have set aside attachment born of love for your son and have remained firmly established in dharma, I grant your son leave to live for a full hundred years.”
