Shloka 82

Sabhā Parva, Adhyāya 68 — Pāṇḍavānāṃ Vanavāsa-prasthānaḥ; Duḥśāsana-nindā; Pāṇḍava-pratijñāḥ

स्त्रिया: पत्या विहीनाया राज्ञा ग्रस्तस्य चैव यत्‌ । अपुत्रायाश्व यद्‌ दुःखं व्याप्राप्रातस्य चैव यत्‌

striyāḥ patyā vihīnāyā rājñā grastasya caiva yat | aputrāyāś ca yad duḥkhaṃ vyāprāprātasya caiva yat ||

Kāśyapa said: “Consider the sorrow of a woman bereft of her husband; the distress of a king overwhelmed and brought under another’s power; the grief of a woman without a son; and the suffering of one who strives yet fails to attain his aim.”
