Vidura said: “I continually wish for lasting fame and wealth for Dhṛtarāṣṭra, the son of Vicitravīrya, together with his sons. Yet, Duryodhana, live as you choose; I bow to you. May the brāhmaṇas also pronounce blessings of well-being for me.”

Educational Q&A

One may sincerely wish well for family and kingdom, yet must not endorse adharma. Vidura offers goodwill and respectful closure while acknowledging that Duryodhana will follow his own will; the moral weight is placed on right conduct and the blessings of the wise.

In the Sabha Parva context of escalating hostility, Vidura addresses the Kuru situation: he expresses a standing wish for Dhṛtarāṣṭra and his sons to have prosperity and honor, but he also signals separation from Duryodhana’s chosen path, ending with salutations and invoking brāhmaṇa blessings.
