Escalation of Wagers and Shakuni’s Repeated Declarations of Victory
विदुर उवाच राजा महात्मा कुशली सपुत्र आस्ते वृतो ज्ञातिभिरिन्द्रकल्प: । प्रीतो राजन् पुत्रगणैर्विनीतै- विशोक एवात्मरतिर्महात्मा,विदुरने कहा--राजन! इन्द्रके समान प्रभावशाली महामना राजा धुृतराष्ट्र अपने जातिभाइयों तथा पुत्रोंसहित सकुशल हैं। अपने विनीत पुत्रोंसे वे प्रसन्न रहते हैं। उनमें शोकका अभाव है। वे महामना अपनी आत्मामें ही अनुराग रखनेवाले हैं
vidura uvāca rājā mahātmā kuśalī saputra āste vṛto jñātibhir indrakalpaḥ | prīto rājan putragaṇair vinītair viśoka evātmaratir mahātmā ||
Vidura said: “O King, the great-souled Dhṛtarāṣṭra—mighty like Indra—dwells in safety, surrounded by his kinsmen and accompanied by his sons. He is pleased with his well-disciplined sons; he is free from grief, and that noble one finds his satisfaction within his own self.”
