विविशुस्ते5भ्यनुज्ञाता रत्नवन्ति गृहाणि च । ददृशुश्नोपयातांस्तान् दुःशलाप्रमुखा: स्त्रिय:,तत्पश्चात् धृतराष्ट्रकी आज्ञा ले पाण्डवोंने रत्नमय गृहोंमें प्रवेश किया। दुःशला आदि स्त्रियोंने वहाँ आये हुए उन सबको देखा। ट्रपदकुमारीकी प्रज्वलित अग्निके समान उत्तम समृद्धि देखकर धृतराष्ट्रकी पुत्रवधुएँ अधिक प्रसन्न नहीं हुईं
vaiśampāyana uvāca | viviśus te 'bhyanujñātā ratnavanti gṛhāṇi ca | dadṛśuś copayātāṁs tān duḥśalāpramukhāḥ striyaḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana said: Having received permission, they entered the jewel-adorned residences. There, the women—led by Duḥśalā—saw them as they arrived. Though the Pāṇḍavas were formally honored with opulence, not all the women of the Kaurava household felt unalloyed joy; confronted with the radiant prosperity and dignity associated with Draupadī and the Pāṇḍavas, a shadow of envy showed beneath outward hospitality.
