Dhṛtarāṣṭra said: “Do not cut them down—these Pāṇḍu sons are to you like your own arms. And do not, for the sake of your brothers’ wealth, commit betrayal of friends.”

Educational Q&A

Wealth and factional loyalty must not override dharma: one should not harm close kin who are as integral as one’s own limbs, nor commit betrayal of friends for material gain.

In the Sabha Parva context of escalating hostility over power and wealth, Dhṛtarāṣṭra counsels restraint, urging that the Pāṇḍavas be treated as indispensable family and warning against friend-betrayal motivated by property.
