कमण्डलूनुपादाय जातरूपमयाउ्छुभान् । एतद् धनं समादाय प्रवेशं लेभिरे न च
kamaṇḍalūn upādāya jātarūpamayāñ śubhān | etad dhanaṃ samādāya praveśaṃ lebhire na ca ||
Duryodhana said: “Taking up auspicious water-pots (kamaṇḍalu) made of gold, and carrying away this wealth, they did not obtain entry at all.”
दुर्योधन उवाच
External signs of auspiciousness and the mere acquisition of wealth do not secure true acceptance or rightful access; ethical intent and rightful conduct matter more than possessions.
