वासुदेवेन तत्‌ कर्म यथायुक्त महत्‌ कृतम्‌ । सिद्ध च पाण्डुपुत्राणां प्रतापेन महात्मनाम्‌,वासुदेव श्रीकृष्णने जैसा महान्‌ अनुचित कर्म किया था, वह महामना पाण्डवोंके प्रतापसे सफल हो गया

vāsudevena tat karma yathāyuktaṃ mahat kṛtam | siddha ca pāṇḍuputrāṇāṃ pratāpena mahātmanām ||

Duryodhana said: “That great deed was carried out by Vāsudeva in a manner that was ‘fitting’ (as he judged it)—yet it was, in truth, an improper act. Still, it succeeded, upheld by the prowess and influence of the high-souled sons of Pāṇḍu.”
