अर्हणनिर्णयः
Decision on the Highest Honor at the Assembly
तस्मिन् धर्मविदां श्रेष्ठो धर्मराजस्य धीमत: । महाध्वरे महाबुद्धिस्तस्थौ स बहुमानत:
tasmin dharmavidāṁ śreṣṭho dharmarājasya dhīmataḥ | mahādhvare mahābuddhis tasthau sa bahumānataḥ ||
There, at the great sacrificial rite of the wise Dharmarāja (Yudhiṣṭhira), the foremost among the knowers of dharma—great in understanding—stood present, held in high honor.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights that in a righteous king’s public rite, the highest standing belongs to one who truly knows dharma; ethical and ritual authority is validated by wisdom and the respect it naturally receives.
During Dharmarāja Yudhiṣṭhira’s great sacrificial ceremony, a renowned knower of dharma—described as highly intelligent—stands present and is treated with marked honor, indicating his prominence in the proceedings.
