Vaiśampāyana said: In that sacred inner enclosure, the great-souled sages led by Nārada sat assembled and shone in splendour, in the company of royal seers. Their presence lent the sacrificial hall the dignity of a divine assembly, where learning, restraint, and ritual order upheld the king’s dharmic undertaking.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic kingship supported by learned sages: a ruler’s public acts (especially sacrifice and governance) gain legitimacy and ethical weight when conducted within ritual order and under the guidance of spiritually accomplished teachers.
In the sacrificial precinct, eminent sages headed by Nārada are seated alongside royal seers, and their gathered presence makes the scene resemble a divine assembly, underscoring the grandeur and solemnity of the rite being performed.
