Vaiśampāyana said: All undertakings began to prosper—especially the protection of cattle, the tilling of fields, and trade. Indeed, it was particularly through the king’s orderly administration that all these activities came to be successfully accomplished.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse teaches that effective kingship (rājakarma/rāja-dharma in action) is the foundation of public welfare: when the ruler maintains order and proper administration, agriculture, cattle-protection, and commerce thrive, benefiting the whole society.
Vaiśampāyana describes a period of well-being in the kingdom: various economic and social activities—especially cattle-rearing/protection, farming, and trade—are running smoothly, attributed chiefly to the king’s sound governance.
