Yudhiṣṭhira said: “O Kṛṣṇa, because of you the whole earth now stands under my control, ready for service. And, O descendant of the Vṛṣṇis, abundant wealth too has been obtained by me through your gracious favor.”
युधिछिर उवाच
The verse highlights ethical kingship grounded in humility and gratitude: Yudhiṣṭhira attributes political success and material prosperity not to personal pride but to Kṛṣṇa’s support and grace, modeling restraint in power and acknowledgment of benefactors.
In the Sabha Parva setting, Yudhiṣṭhira addresses Kṛṣṇa, acknowledging that his expanding sovereignty over the earth and the accumulation of wealth have come about through Kṛṣṇa’s help—an expression of dependence and reverence amid royal consolidation.
