Educational Q&A

The verse highlights ethical kingship grounded in humility and gratitude: Yudhiṣṭhira attributes political success and material prosperity not to personal pride but to Kṛṣṇa’s support and grace, modeling restraint in power and acknowledgment of benefactors.

In the Sabha Parva setting, Yudhiṣṭhira addresses Kṛṣṇa, acknowledging that his expanding sovereignty over the earth and the accumulation of wealth have come about through Kṛṣṇa’s help—an expression of dependence and reverence amid royal consolidation.
