Steadfastness in a rightful aim can command respect even from the powerful; when further violence is pointless, choosing restraint and making amends through respectful offering is ethically superior to stubborn aggression.
The mountain-lord recognizes the Kaunteya’s unshakable resolve, withdraws from the confrontation, and returns bearing various gems as an offering of service/appeasement.
