In this child there will be a marked manifestation of beauty of form, inner excellence, strength, and vigorous energy. Without doubt, this son of yours will be endowed with royal fortune and prosperity.
श्रीकृष्ण उवाच
The verse highlights the classical markers of an ideal heir: outward excellence (rūpa), inner virtue and courage (sattva), strength (bala), and energetic vigor (ūrjita), crowned by śrī—legitimate royal prosperity. Ethically, it implies that rulership is best supported by both character and capability, not merely birth.
Śrī Kṛṣṇa is assuring someone (addressed as ‘tava’) about the future greatness of their son, describing the child’s qualities and affirming that he will be endowed with royal fortune, leaving no room for doubt.
