Jarāsandha as Obstacle to the Rājasūya — Kṛṣṇa’s Strategic Genealogical Brief
Sabhā Parva, Adhyāya 13
taṁ viśrāntaṁ śubhe deśe kṣaṇinaṁ kalpam acyutam | dharmarājaḥ samāgamyājñāpayat svaprayojanam ||
Vaiśaṃpāyana said: When Acyuta had rested for a short while in an auspicious place, Dharmarāja (Yudhiṣṭhira) approached him and communicated his purpose, setting forth the matter that needed to be accomplished.
The verse highlights dhārmic conduct in communication: one should approach a respected person at an appropriate time, after they have rested, and then state one’s purpose clearly and respectfully.
After Kṛṣṇa (Acyuta) rests briefly in an auspicious place, Yudhiṣṭhira (Dharmarāja) comes to meet him and conveys the full purpose of his visit—introducing the next step in their counsel and planning.
