Nārada said: With many kinds of foods and delicacies, with gifts granted according to each one’s desire, and with heaps of jewels—so that the brāhmaṇas were fully satisfied and pleased—together with offerings such as curds and other dairy preparations, King Hariścandra won their blessings. Therefore he became more radiant in power and more renowned in fame than other kings.
नारद उवाच
Honoring the worthy through generous giving—especially to learned brāhmaṇas—brings blessings that manifest as tejas (moral-spiritual power) and yaśas (good fame), making a ruler truly eminent beyond mere wealth or force.
Nārada describes how King Hariścandra satisfied brāhmaṇas with abundant foods, desired gifts, and heaps of jewels; pleased, they bestowed blessings on him, and as a result he became more illustrious and renowned than other kings.
