सर्वर्तुगुणसम्पन्नां दिव्यरूपां मनोरमाम्‌ | दशकिष्कुसहस्रां तां मापयामास सर्वत:,उसने कुन्तीपुत्रों तथा महात्मा श्रीकृष्णकी रुचिके अनुसार सभाभवन बनानेका निश्चय किया। किसी पवित्र तिथिको (शुभ मुहूर्तमें) मंगलानुष्ठान, स्वस्तिवाचन आदि करके महातेजस्वी और पराक्रमी मयने हजारों श्रेष्ठ ब्राह्यणोंको खीर खिलाकर तृप्त किया तथा उन्हें अनेक प्रकारका धन दान किया। इसके बाद उसने सभाभवन बनानेके लिये समस्त ऋतुओंके गुणोंसे सम्पन्न दिव्य रूपवाली मनोरम सब ओरसे दस हजार हाथकी (अर्थात्‌ दस हजार हाथ चौड़ी और दस हजार हाथ लम्बी) धरती नपवायी

sarvartuguṇasampannāṃ divyarūpāṃ manoramām | daśakiṣkusahasrāṃ tāṃ māpayāmāsa sarvataḥ ||

Vaiśampāyana said: Then Maya caused the ground to be measured out on every side—an enchanting, divinely beautiful site endowed with the excellences of all seasons—extending to ten thousand kiṣkus, in preparation for the construction of the royal assembly hall.
