ववुर्वाताश्व निर्घाता रूक्षा: शर्करवर्षिण: । अपसव्यानि शकुना मण्डलानि प्रचक्रिरे,बिजलीकी गड़गड़ाहटके साथ बालू और कंकड़ बरसानेवाली प्रचण्ड आँधी चलने लगी। पक्षी दाहिनी ओर मण्डल बनाकर उड़ते दिखायी देने लगे
Vaiśampāyana uvāca | vavur vātāś ca nirghātā rūkṣāḥ śarkaravarṣiṇaḥ | apasavyāni śakunā maṇḍalāni pracakrire ||
Vaiśampāyana said: Harsh, violent winds began to blow, accompanied by thunderous crashes, and they rained down grit and pebbles. Birds, too, wheeled in circles in an inauspicious manner—portents that signaled a grave disorder in the moral and natural order and foreshadowed impending calamity.
