अध्याय १: महाप्रस्थानारम्भः
The Commencement of the Great Departure
अर्जुनस्य मतं ज्ञात्वा भीमसेनो यमौ तथा । अन्वपद्यन्त तद् वाक््यं यदुक्ते सव्यसाचिना
arjunasya mataṁ jñātvā bhīmaseno yamau tathā | anvapadyanta tad vākyaṁ yad ukte savyasācinā ||
Understanding Arjuna’s intention, Bhīmasena and the twin brothers likewise assented to the very words spoken by Savyasācin, Arjuna the ambidextrous archer.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights disciplined unity: once a righteous course is understood and agreed upon, the brothers set aside individual insistence and move forward together, embodying concord and shared resolve.
After Arjuna expresses a particular intention or proposal, Bhīma and the twins (Nakula and Sahadeva) understand his mind and follow the same plan, accepting Arjuna’s spoken direction.
