प्रययौँ स महाबाहुर्द्र्ठमायोधनं तदा । कृष्णार्जुनाभ्यां वीराभ्यामनुमन्त्रय तत: प्रियम्
prayayau sa mahābāhur dṛḍham āyodhanaṃ tadā | kṛṣṇārjunābhyāṃ vīrābhyām anumantṛya tataḥ priyam ||
Then that mighty-armed hero set out resolutely for battle. Having first taken leave—seeking the assent and goodwill—of the two valiant warriors, Kṛṣṇa and Arjuna, he departed, intent on what he deemed right and dear.
संयज उवाच
Even in war, action should be undertaken with steadiness and with due regard for counsel and consent from rightful guides and allies; resolve is strengthened when aligned with what one considers proper and valued.
A heroic figure departs for the coming fight, doing so firmly and only after taking leave and obtaining the assent of Kṛṣṇa and Arjuna.
