मुक्ता वीरक्षयादस्मात् संग्रामाललोमहर्षणात् । क्षिप्रमुत्ततकालानि कुरु कार्याणि पाण्डव
sañjaya uvāca |
muktā vīrakṣayād asmāt saṅgrāmāl loma-harṣaṇāt |
kṣipram uttatakālāni kuru kāryāṇi pāṇḍava ||
Sañjaya said: “You have been freed from this battle that brings about the destruction of heroes and makes the hair stand on end. O son of Pāṇḍu, swiftly accomplish the tasks that now lie before you.”
संजय उवाच
Even after surviving a terrifying and destructive conflict, one must promptly return to rightful responsibilities (kāryāṇi)—the ethical emphasis is on timely discharge of duty rather than lingering in the shock or exhilaration of war.
Sañjaya addresses a Pāṇḍava, noting that they have come out of a hair-raising battle marked by the fall of many heroes, and urges him to quickly carry out the necessary next actions in the unfolding situation.
